Sally Cunningham is the Deputy Chief Strategy Officer. She works with the Executive Leadership Team to keep the SEI's strategy relevant, ensure that decisions align with the strategy; and develop, execute, and institutionalize strateic initiatives that advance the SEI's mission and strategic goals.
Sally Cunningham has held various positions with the SEI including General Counsel and Director of Technology Transition Services where she led licensing, contracts, ethics, compliance, communications, public relations, customer relations, education, and conference teams.
Sally Cunningham is currently on the Board of Directors for the Armed Forces and Communications Electronics Association, Vincentian Collaborative Systems, and the Board of Advisors for Penn State Greater Allegheny. She is a past member of the Board of Advisors for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).
Sally Cunningham has extensive experience in all aspects of program development, technology transition, licensing, contracts and negotiations. She has made significant contributions in all these areas through research, training and facilitation, consulting and the development of new programs. She has taught courses and held seminars in Copyright Law, Government Contracting, and Negotiations for Carnegie Mellon University, Defense Systems Management College, and the National Contract Management Association. Most recently, she is contributing to the SEI’s organizational security insider threat body of work.
Previous to her work at SEI, Sally held various contracting officer and contract specialist positions with the Army Tank Automotive Command and the Air Force Electronic Systems Center.
