Eric Blaine Werner
Chief Architect, SEI Emerging Technology Center
Eric Blaine Werner is the Chief Architect for the SEI Emerging Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University where he sets the technical direction of the center in the areas of Software Development, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics. As a Senior Member of the Technical Staff, Werner coordinates across SEI Business Units, Technical Programs, and with Carnegie Mellon University Faculty and Staff to identify, evaluate, develop, and transition leading edge technologies for government customers.
Werner has over 15 years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on delivering global, mission-critical software systems. Prior to joining the SEI, Werner was the Lead Architect and Systems Engineer for the United States Army's Command and Control System with General Dynamics C4 Systems. In this role he set the technical strategy and led the integration of new R&D capabilities into the globally-fielded command and control system used by the US Army.
Werner has held other positions as the Technical Lead for R&D for the Media Division of Management Science Associates and as a Software Developer applying advanced machine learning techniques at Union Switch and Signal.
