SEI Appraisal Program
The Appraisal Program oversees the quality and consistency of the SEI's process appraisal technology and encourages its effective use. Its four main functions include communications to the appraisal community; appraisal quality control; training, authorizing, certifying, and providing resources for Lead Appraisers and Team Leaders; and monitoring and reporting appraisal results.
On January 10, 2008, there was a change in leadership within the SEI Appraisal Program. Jack Ferguson stepped down from the management of the AP to work on the implementation of the CMMI for Acquisition. Rawdon (Rusty) Young became the new appraisal team lead. Rusty has extensive experience with SCAMPI and high maturity practice implementation in industry, as well as a wealth of experience in teaching. His email address is rry@sei.cmu.edu, and his phone number is 412-268-2584. Jack was our manager for over three years, during which the program has gone through extensive changes and grown in many ways. We will certainly miss his leadership, but we know that Rusty is fully qualified to lead our program.
SEI Appraisal Program Communications

The Sixth Annual CMMI Workshop will be held in Vancouver, Washington on October 27-30, 2008. Registration for the workshop can be found in the Partner Resource Center.

Monitoring and Reporting Appraisal Results
The SEI Appraisal Program, partnering with the process appraisal community worldwide, has developed the SEI Appraisal System (SAS). The SAS helps to oversee the quality and consistency of the SEI's process appraisal technology and encourage its effective use. The system assists the SEI Appraisal Program in its three functions: appraisal quality control; training, authorizing, and providing resources for Lead Appraisers; and monitoring and reporting appraisal results.
Appraisal results are tracked to measure the transition of SEI process improvement technologies. To find out more, see the published appraisal results Web page.
The SEI is seeking qualified organizations to partner with or to become SCAMPI Lead Appraisers.
