List of Published SCAMPI Appraisal Results

Published CMMI® V.1.1 and V1.2 Appraisal Results

Published Appraisal Results Web Site

Purpose of this List    |    Inappropriate Uses of this List
About Certification    |    About Verification    |    For More Information

The CMMI Appraisal Program has developed a Web page for the voluntary publication of SCAMPI Class A appraisal results. The list of published CMMI v1.1 and CMMI v1.2 Appraisal Results can be found there.

To have an appraisal's results published, the Lead Appraiser must submit a complete Appraisal Report Package to the SEI Appraisal System (SAS). Once the appraisal data is complete and submitted, and after it passes the quality review, the information may be published at the appraisal sponsor's request. This request is made by having the sponsor initial their authorization in the designated area on the SAS-generated Appraisal Disclosure Statement that must be submitted with the appraisal record.

The intent and purpose of providing this list is as follows:

Inappropriate Uses of this List

About Certification

The terms "SEI certified" and "CMMI® certification" are not valid terms and indicate conditions that do not exist for the following reasons:

  • The SEI does not certify organizations.
  • The SEI only licenses and authorizes lead appraisers to conduct appraisals.
  • The SEI, nor any other organization, is a "certifying authority" of the results from an appraisal.
  • The SEI did not confirm the accuracy of the maturity levels reported in this list and has no intention of doing so.
  • About Verification

The intended purpose of the SEI models and appraisal methods is for self improvement. The goal is to raise the level of quality of the products developed while providing a better ability to predict the time and budget needed for development. Achievement of this goal focuses on the creation of an environment to support the ability to reliably develop products in a repeatable fashion with continual improvement.

For most models developed by the SEI there are two basic appraisal approaches:

When done for evaluation, the organization may be performing the appraisal for source selection and verification of another organization's appraisal results or maturity level. The Published Appraisal Results Web site does not verify appraisal results presented by our Lead Appraisers. Therefore, the Web site is not a suitable replacement for source selection and verification appraisal efforts.

It is also important to know that maintaining a certain maturity status is a continuous process. Therefore, once a certain level is reached, ongoing appraisals are required to assure that a maturity level is being maintained over time.
