SATURN 2009 Call for Proposals
The SEI Architecture Technology User Network (SATURN) Conference is held every year to bring together experts from around the world to exchange best practices in developing, acquiring, and maintaining architectures for software-intensive systems.
As systems grow in complexity in today’s software-intensive world, architecture's role becomes crucial at enterprise, system, and software levels. The theme of the SATURN 2009 conference is “architecture at all scales” exploring the boundary between software, system and enterprise architectures. The theme highlights the growing importance of architecture in driving organizations to success by acknowledging the best architecture-centric practices that architecture practitioners use to build predictable, high-quality systems.
We invite high quality submissions that describe experiences in using architecture technology. Topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to
- case studies and lessons learned in applying SEI architecture technology
- efforts to improve the state of architectural practices across an organization
- clarifying and codifying the role of architect
- future directions in software, system, and enterprise architecture technology
- architecture design in distributed software projects
- the relationship of software, system, and enterprise architecture
- the value or ROI of architecture practices
- architecture practices in acquisition settings
- planning and maintaining a system of systems architecture
- role of architecture-centric practices in evolving systems
- planning for and maintaining an enterprise architecture
Submit a Proposal
Presentations run from 30-60 minutes and describe lessons learned from industrial practice. Presentations should focus on the practical architecture lessons that can be drawn from the experience and encourage interactive discussion on the presented topic, rather than offering a complete description of the system or enterprise. Your presentation proposal should be a maximum of two pages long and include a title, a 500-word abstract, and brief biographies of you and any other presenters.
Half-day tutorials present a topic on proven experience with the goal of helping participants to expand their architecture knowledge and skills. Your tutorial proposal should be 2-3 pages long and describe the topic and its background, the plan for conducting the tutorial, and brief biographies of you and any other presenters.
