CMMI Steering Group

Purpose

The purpose of the Steering Group is to represent the customers' interests and requirements and provide guidance to the Project Manager and CMMI Product Team.

Membership

The Steering Group consists of eleven members. All members understand process improvement and the role of CMM-based assessments in organizational improvement. The Steering Group has expertise in software engineering, systems engineering, and integrated product and process development (IPPD) and acquisition. These members represent industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute.

Operation

The Steering Group provides guidance to the Product Team regarding the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the CMMI Product Suite. The Steering Group works closely with the CMMI Project Manager to guide CMMI project activities. The Steering Group also approves all nominees from the CMMI Product Team.
