Your Ideas for CMMI Beyond Version 1.2
CMMI for Development, Version 1.2 was released in August 2006 and CMMI for Acquisition, Version 1.2 was released in November 2007. These releases contained numerous improvements over CMMI v1.1, greatly improving the integrity of both the model and the appraisal method and expanding best practices from development to acquisition.
You can help guide the initial planning for what lies beyond CMMI v1.2 by telling us what major improvements you would like to see in CMMI in its next major release.
The CMMI Steering Group has established two major goals for CMMI beyond v1.2:
- determine ways to make the model less complex while still preserving integrity
- construct alternative appraisal techniques that would be less onerous while still preserving integrity
