12. Summary Task done
This toolkit represents assets and processes that the SED/SEI Huntsville pilot team used to support the adoption of CMMI by two small companies, ASI and CTI.  Both of these organizations are part of the AMRDEC Software Engineering Division's supply chain, and both are encouraged by their customers, which include both larger suppliers and SED directly, to engage in process improvement activities that improve their process capability and organizational maturity.  This pilot has focused on establishing the technical feasibility of small to medium size organizations to adopt CMMI practices and derive business benefit from doing so.
This particular report, available both as an asset repository and a Technical Report document, focuses on describing the assets and process that the Consultant team used with the two pilot sites. Each pilot organization's experience is also documented as an Experience Report Technical Note. Look for these in the CMMI Knowledge Exchange area or in the Publications area of the SEI web site.
We are very pleased with the progress of both organizations in initial adoption of CMMI, and are hoping to continue monitoring both sites to learn more about long term issues and solutions related to adoption.  Although affordability was not an explicit aspect of this study, we are also hopeful of exploring this issue in the future as well.
