Basic to advanced level CMMI courses are available for anyone interested in learning about CMMI. The practitioners track is for those interested in process improvement implementation. Other tracks are for those interested in becoming a CMMI Instructor or SCAMPI Lead Appraiser.

CMMI for Development Course Curriculum

All CMMI training is consistent in its presentation of CMMI and process improvement concepts. The Introduction to CMMI for Development course illustrates the benefits of process improvement and introduces you to CMMI fundamental concepts. The Intermediate Concepts of CMMI for Development course provides more in-depth coverage of the CMMI-DEV model. This course is also a prerequisite for the CMMI-DEV Instructor and SCAMPI Lead Appraiser tracks.

The CMMI-DEV Level 2 and Level 3 for Practitioners courses focus on the model practices to reach CMMI-DEV maturity level 2 and maturity level 3, respectively.

All CMMI courses are offered by the SEI and many are offered by SEI partner organizations. Find an SEI partner organization near you that offers CMMI training. There are hundreds of SEI partner organizations who employ consultants that are licensed to provide CMMI services, including training and appraisals.

You can become a CMMI instructor  and become sponsored by an SEI Partner to begin teaching others about CMMI. CMMI Instructors are highly trained and experienced with CMMI and its methodologies. These instructors demonstrate advanced competency in CMMI models, experience with the courseware, and skill in educating adult learners in a classroom environment.

You can also become a lead appraiser by completing the required courses, passing exams, and meeting other requirements.
