The People CMM moved from the People CMM-Based Assessment Method to SCAMPI V1.2 beginning January 1, 2007. At that time the People CMM-Based Assessment Method moved into a sunset period of one (1) year, with no assessments based on this method being accepted after December 31, 2007.
With this move, we will implement the three-year maximum period of validity for SCAMPI Class A appraisals with People CMM. Three years after the appraisal end date, the appraisal results will expire and become invalid based on age; however, please keep in mind that an appraisal can become invalid for other reasons.
With the sunsetting of the People CMM-Based Assessment Method, assessments based on this method will expire December 31, 2007 or three years after their assessment end date, whichever is later. Organizations currently holding Maturity Level ratings that will expire, based on the People CMM-Based Assessment Method, may either conduct:
1. an appraisal with the SCAMPI with People CMM V1.2 Method, or
2. an assessment with the People CMM-Based Assessment Method (before December 31, 2007)
