Collaboration Opportunities in Software Engineering Measurement and Analysis (SEMA)
Risk identification and cost estimation for system-of-system integration efforts: This work involves evaluating the success and failure of integration and interoperability programs with a specific focus on deriving reasonable cost estimates. In particular, the SEI is focusing on the effort and mechanisms associated with communication and coordination among stakeholder groups.
Measuring the impact of model-based engineering process improvement programs: The work focuses on establishing empirical evidence related to the impacts, costs, and time associated with the adoption and implementation of CMMI.
Empirical validation of software product quality measures: This work involves improving the software measures and standards related to software product quality measurement. Quality characteristics—including interoperability, security, and maintainability—are defined in ISO 9126, an international standard the SEI is currently helping to revise.
