SEI Architecture-Centric Engineering (ACE) Workshop for Educators

Tenth SEI Architecture-Centric Engineering (ACE) Workshop for Educators

The Tenth SEI Software Architecture Workshop for Educators will be held at the Software Engineering Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 5–7, 2013. Please email Patricia McDonald for more information about how to register for this workshop.

This workshop will explore these topics:

  • Architectural Implications of Cloud Computing
  • Economics-Driven Architecting

The format will be similar to previous workshops. The first two days will concentrate on this year's topics. The third day will be a group session, facilitated by SEI team members, to share experiences, ideas, and tangible artifacts for introducing software architecture and product line topics into the college curriculum.

This community of educators and their influence on the direction of software engineering education continues to grow. Through these participants, hundreds of students annually are exposed to software architecture and product line concepts. Attendees every year have stated that as a result of the Educators Workshop they incorporate new material into their courses including software architecture, software product lines, SEI methods, the Pedagogical Product Line, and the Hard Choices game.

The Educators Workshop represents a unique opportunity to interact with like-minded teaching colleagues face to face as well as to connect with the growing community who has attended other workshops. It has created a network of collaboration both for research and for education.
