Software Engineering Community Work
Occasionally, the SEI participates in community service activities such as these which may or may not be sponsored or co-sponsored by the SEI:
Educational Collaboration Opportunities
Educational collaboration opportunities related to software engineering and sponsored, at least in part, by the SEI include
- Master of Science in Information Technology, Software Engineering Management
By coupling the professional courses of the SEI with elements of the graduate programs from the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science and Heinz School, the MSIT-SEM prepares working professionals to apply SEI technologies and practices in managing organizations that continuously improve with advances in software.
- Master of Information Systems
Management
The CERT/CC is collaborating with the Carnegie Mellon University H. J. Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management to develop a curriculum in Information Security Management. CERT/CC staff members are teaching courses in the Information Security Management specialization. - Master of Software Engineering
Program
This degree program is offered by Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science and the Software Engineering Institute.
The Software Engineering Repository (SEIR)
The SEIR is a community-based Web site for software engineers in the field -- including government, industry, and academia. There they exchange lessons learned, pose questions, and submit materials that might help others. The SEIR offers data and customized analyses of the software engineering practices that lead to improvement, and provides a forum for the contribution and exchange of information about software engineering improvement activities. All individuals interested in software engineering improvement activities are welcome to participate. There is no charge for becoming a member nor for accessing the site but registration is required to access all of the site's information. If you are not registered, you may view the information in the SEIR public access area for a sample of what the SEIR has to offer.
