SEI Credentials Programs: Descriptions
Certificate Programs
The SEI offers twelve certificate programs
in five technical areas:
Software Engineering Process Management,
Personal Software Process (PSP), Software
Product Lines, Software Architecture, and Information Security.
The SEI also offers five certification programs.
All courses in a certificate or certification program must be completed within two years.
Please read descriptions carefully: requirements differ among programs.

| Software architecture determines how you
communicate design decisions, structure work breakdowns, and create
software product lines. The SEI has developed three software architecture
certificate programs to equip software professionals with state-of-the-art
practices for designing, documenting, evaluating, and implementing software
architectures. |

| The SEI's Networked Systems Survivability Program builds on the experience of the CERT® Coordination Center to offer training in the areas of creating and managing computer security incident response teams (CSIRTs), responding to and analyzing security incidents, and improving network security to system administrators, managers, and incident response teams. CERT-Certified Computer Security Incident Handler |

| The CERT®-Certified Computer Security Incident Handler (CSIH) certification program has been created for incident handling professionals, computer security incident response team (CSIRT) technical staff, system and network administrators with incident handling experience, incident handling trainers and educators, and individuals with some technical training who want to enter the incident handling field. It is recommended for those computer security professionals with three or more years of experience in incident handling and/or equivalent security-related experience. | SEI-Certified PSP Developer |

| The SEI Personal Software Process is a disciplined and structured approach to software development that can be applied to many different types of projects. An SEI-Certified PSP Developer is an individual who possesses the knowledge and skills required to competently deliver quality software on predictable schedules. Candidates should be able to measure and track size, time, and defect data, estimate and plan their work, and manage the quality of the products they produce using PSP methodologies. | SEI-Certified Instructor
for Implementing Goal-Driven Measurement |

| An Instructor of the Implementing Goal-Driven Measurement (IGDM) course introduces the methods for identifying and defining indicators (graphical displays) and measures that directly support an organization’s business goals related to product development, process improvement, and project management. SEI-Certified SCAMPI High
Maturity Lead Appraiser |
|
An SEI-Certified SCAMPI High Maturity Lead Appraiser (SCAMPI HM LA) is responsible for applying this benchmark to determine that an organization has demonstrated the capability to quantitatively manage its projects to produce high-quality, predictable results at CMMI Maturity Levels 4 and 5. A SCAMPI HM LA will lead a trained team of professionals in the appraisal of one or more CMMI process areas (using evidence collected via presentations, documents, and interviews) to determine that organization's process capability and/or maturity level. | SEI-Certified TSP Coach |

A TSP coach is an individual who possesses the knowledge, software skills, and team facilitation abilities to lead software-based product development teams. Leadership of a development team requires dedication, commitment, and energy to continually keep the team motivated, management informed, and tasking on track. TSP coaches work with team leaders to monitor a team's progress using effective communication techniques. |
