SEI Credentials Program: Terms and Conditions

  1. Credentials program completion time – Participants have two years to complete either a certificate or certification program. The two-year window begins when a participant takes the first course in the sequence.

In some cases, the SEI grants waivers for the two-year completion requirement. If you would like to request a waiver, please send your request and the dates for the courses you attended to credentials-info@sei.cmu.edu. The SEI considers waiver requests carefully; requesting a waiver does not guarantee that the SEI will grant a waiver.

    For those completing a certificate
Participants must register for each of the courses for the certificate program they are interested in pursuing. Participants have two years to complete the sequence of courses and submit a certificate verification form. Payment must be received prior to attendance.

Participants will receive a certificate upon successful review of their certificate verification forms. Please allow seven to ten days for this process.

    For those completing a certification

  2. Payment – Payment in full is required before a certificate or certification will be issued. Acceptable forms of payment include the following:
    • credit cards (processed upon receipt). Cards accepted include American Express, Diners Club, Master Card, and Visa.

    • company or personal checks (Make payable to SEI/CMU and indicate registrant's name.)

    • completed purchase orders (Must be completed in full, indicate "Advance Payment Required," and be signed by the designated fiscal officer in your organization.) For government purchase orders, we recommend submitting DD Form 1556 as a prepaid training form, with “Advanced Payment Required” in block #37 and the fiscal officer’s signature in block #29.

  3. Taxes

    No Deduction for Taxes
.  The amounts to be paid by Company under these terms and conditions do not include any charges for applicable taxes, governmental charges, duties or similar additions or deductions of any kind (including without limitation any and all federal, state, local, governmental, republic or provincial sales, use, goods and services, excise and withholding taxes) other than any United States Federal or state income taxes assessed on the income of SEI (collectively, “Taxes”). Company agrees to pay any and all amounts required under these terms and conditions without deduction of any such Taxes.

Gross-Up.  In the event by operation of law or otherwise, such Taxes are required to be deducted from any amounts paid to SEI under these terms and conditions, the amounts due under these terms and conditions shall be increased to such amounts as may be necessary to yield SEI the amount it would otherwise have received had such payments been made without deduction for any such Taxes.

    Customs Duties
.  In addition, the amounts to be paid by Company under these terms and conditions do not include customs duties or any other importation or exportation fees and associated costs, if any.  Company agrees to pay any such costs within thirty (30) days after receipt of an invoice from SEI.

Treaty Qualification.  Upon request, SEI agrees to assist Company in completing any necessary forms to claim applicable tax treaty benefits related to these terms and conditions.

  4. Rescheduling or canceling offerings – The SEI reserves the right to cancel a course offering due to low enrollment. If a course is canceled, the SEI will notify registrants. The SEI will ensure that another offering of the course is available for certificate or certification program participants within the two-year window for completing the certificate or certification.
