A collaborative effort of Carnegie Mellon’s Heinz College, the School of Computer Science, and the Software Engineering Institute, the MSIT-SEM degree is designed for experienced developers to mid-level managers currently working in information technology or software development positions who are eager to increase the breadth and depth of their knowledge.
Ideal candidates are those who work directly within software development organizations, or in the broader business sector that acquires, integrates, and manages software.
Courses from the Software Engineering Institute bring a professional balance to the formal academic coursework of the Heinz College and the School of Computer Science. For more than 25 years, the SEI has been helping companies, organizations, and individuals worldwide to improve their efficiency, cost savings, and productivity. With SEI instruction, students gain a rich understanding of SEI methods that can help them work better and smarter, as well as a plan for applying these methods in their daily work.
