Exploring What’s Next in Process Research

The International Process Research Consortium (IPRC) is a forum for leaders in software and systems process to jointly explore tomorrow's opportunities. The forum includes members from around the world and meets regularly with experts from various influencing disciplines, exploring the process implications of emerging technological, societal, environmental, political, economic, and business trends.

In 2007, the IPRC will be launching its first in a series of research projects to address high priority needs with long-term, international relevance in industry and government.

Strategic Goals

The IPRC is founded on the following strategic goals that provide long-term guidance for the consortium's activities:

  • provide research leadership in response to emerging trends
  • focus on real-world impact
  • have international relevance

These goals provide the foundation on which all other IPRC work is based, including the Research Framework and the Research Initiatives.

The SEI is proud to be a sponsor and organizer of the IPRC. The IPRC brings together the international community's best process researchers with sponsors from the world's leading organizations. Working together, the members of the IPRC are mapping the future of process research. At its heart, process improvement is one of humankind's most basic skills--examining how we do things, learning from experience and others, and improving the way we work. It's exciting to play a role in the advancement of these fundamental technologies.
