Aldo Dagnino, winner of the
2008 SEI Member Award for
Outstanding Contributor, “has established a strong track record
and professional reputation for innovative approaches in applying
SEI technologies in industry,” according to Karen Smiley, who works
with Dagnino at ABB Corporate Research in Raleigh, N.C., and
who nominated him for the award.
As Software Architecture and Technology Program lead at ABB,
Dagnino works with development groups that create products,
which are increasingly software intensive, to improve on the
architecture of their systems.
“At the same time, our group looks at combining our use of the
CMMI for product development in conjunction with SEI
architecture methodologies,” Dagnino said. “Because we have
been committed to the CMMI project for several years at ABB, we
see a very interesting advantage in using both approaches.”
