Adobe's Jim Sartain Announced as Keynote Speaker for SEPG North America 2009 Conference

Jim Sartain, senior director for Software Quality at Adobe Systems, will be a keynote speaker at the 21st Annual SEPG North America conference in San Jose, California, on March 23-26, 2009.

"We are extremely pleased to have Jim as a keynote speaker," said Caroline Graettinger, SEPG Conference Series chair. "His commitment to continuous quality and performance improvement and his experience in the software field serve as a great example for software engineering professionals."

Within Adobe, Sartain leads a team responsible for inspiring, driving, and enabling continuous quality improvement across Adobe. Prior to Adobe Systems, Sartain held quality/process improvement and product development positions at Intuit and Hewlett-Packard (HP) for 25 years. While at Intuit, Sartain drove significant improvement in quality and software engineering practices across the company. His last role at HP was as the CTO/CIO for an Airline Reservation Systems business that serviced low-cost airlines including JetBlue and RyanAir. Sartain earned his bachelor's degree in computer science and psychology from the University of Oregon, and his MS in management of technology from Walden University.

The SEPG North America community has been making a difference in the software and systems field for more than 20 years. And while we often talk in terms of process, it's performance that's the real goal. Process models, process capability, process management, and process improvement are the means to that end. This year we're introducing a new conference theme that we hope captures the essence of why we all do what we do: Perform at a Higher Level. Considering that the SEI has 20 years of leadership and a proven foundation on which to build, performing at a higher level can be an aspiration for all of us. From end users to solution providers to researchers and students, Perform at a Higher Level is a reflection of our field and ourselves.
