Pittsburgh, Pa., April 26, 2012—The Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) has announced the software engineering thought-leaders who will keynote SEPG Europe 2012 to be held June 5-7, 2012, in Madrid, Spain. The five experts who will share their passion on software quality and process performance are Jan Bosch, Chalmers University of Technology; Angel Jordan, Carnegie Mellon University; Anita Carleton, Software Engineering Institute; Andrew Nolan, Rolls-Royce; and Mario Piattini, Information Systems and Technologies Institute, UCLM-Indra Joint Software Research and Development Center. The keynote speakers will headline a technical program that features more than 40 technical sessions in nine tracks on agile approaches, multi-model process improvement, emerging trends that impact software and systems engineering, risk and resilience, and more.

“In sharing their vision and wisdom, these five respected and accomplished leaders from prominent organizations in industry, government, and academia will anchor the SEPG Europe 2012 technical program,” said Patrick Kirwan, SEPG Europe 2012 technical chair. “The well-rounded line-up of keynote speakers gives SEPG Europe 2012 delegates inspiration, strategies, and tactics to get the most from process improvement in their organizations.”

• Jan Bosch is professor of software engineering and co-director of the software research center at Chalmers University Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. He previously worked as vice president of Engineering Process at Intuit Inc. where he also led Intuit's Open Innovation efforts and headed the central mobile technologies team.
• Angel Jordan was the founder in 1984 and twice director of the Software Engineering Institute and founder of the Robotics Institute in 1979, the first and currently the largest institute of robotics in the United States. Both institutes at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) are recognized centers of excellence in the world of technology.
• Anita Carleton is the director of the Software Engineering Process Management (SEPM) Program at the SEI. She provides leadership for the research, development, and transition of methods and technologies that encapsulate best practices for engineering, management, and measurement. 
• Andrew Nolan is the chief of Software Improvement for Rolls-Royce based in the United Kingdom and provides support across the business as well as for partner companies, customers, and suppliers.
• Mario Piattini is the founder of IT companies Cronos Ibérica, S.A.; Kybele Consulting, S.L.; and Alarcos Quality Center, S.L. He is also a professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), director of the Information Systems and Technologies Institute, and director of the UCLM-Indra Joint Software Research and Development Center.

New for 2012, the SEPG Europe conference has partnered with IEEE Software magazine, the leading authority on translating software theory into practice. This collaboration offers conference delegates enhanced programming and the opportunity to be published in a future issue of IEEE Software. Submitted papers will be reviewed for potential selection by a joint SEPG Europe 2012/IEEE Software Committee.
