Lawrence G. Jones, senior member of the technical staff at the SEI, was recently elected to serve as Board Representative to the ABET Board Executive Committee, becoming the first computing professional to serve in that capacity.

ABET is the recognized accrediting body for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology; CSAB is the lead society within ABET for accreditation programs. Jones was named both a Fellow of ABET and a Fellow of CSAB in October 2009.

Jones leads the Product Line Practice Initiative at the SEI and serves as the lead for the Product Line Technical Probe method. He had a distinguished career in the United States Air Force and has an extensive background in software development, management, and education positions.
