Software Engineering Institute and Defense Acquisition University Form Strategic Partnership to Improve Software Education, Training Opportunities

PITTSBURGH-The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) today signed a letter of intent to form a strategic partnership to improve software education and training opportunities for members of the defense acquisition workforce.
The DAU provides acquisition, technology, and logistics management training for the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition, technology, and logistics workforce. The SEI's mission includes providing leadership in advancing the state of the practice of software engineering to improve the quality of software-intensive systems.
The DAU is seeking to augment its current curriculum by working with the SEI to identify specific SEI technologies, offerings, and services that can be adapted and inserted into current and future course offerings to improve the software and systems acquisition management expertise of the defense acquisition, technology, and logistics workforce.
Signing the letter of intent were Donna S. Richbourg, Director, Acquisition Initiatives, and Nancy A. Spruill, Director, Acquisition Resources & Analysis, both from the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics); Stephen E. Cross, Director, Software Engineering Institute; and Frank J. Anderson, Jr., President, Defense Acquisition University. An official signing ceremony was held Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
