Become an SEI Partner for the Delivery of CERT/CC Course Suite

The SEI is seeking qualified organizations to become SEI Partners for delivery of the existing and future CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) Courses from the Network Systems Survivability (NSS) Program:

  • Information Security for Technical Staff
  • Advanced Information Security for Technical Staff
  • Creating a Computer Security for Incident Response Teams
  • Managing Computer Security Incident Response Teams
  • Fundamentals of Incident Handling
  • Advanced Incident Handling for Technical Staff
  • Overview of Creating and Managing a CSIRT

To support the CERT/CC’s mission of disseminating knowledge about information security to the broadest possible audience, CERT/CC partners with select organizations to license and deliver our seven core training classes. These classes are designed to meet the needs of several audiences, from IT managers, to systems and network administrators, to organizations that are looking to build and internal incident response capability. Organizations have the flexibility to license anywhere from one course, up to the entire suite of seven courses.

Application

Apply to become a Partner at http://partner-application.sei.cmu.edu/.

Agreement

The License Agreement defines the responsibilities of both the SEI and the SEI Partner. Before the license agreement can be signed, the organization must be a candidate SEI Partner by successfully completing the application review process. Once your application has been reviewed and your organization has been accepted as a candidate SEI Partner, you will be asked to sign the agreement.

The application review process is to select applicants whose applications best reflect the ideal qualities of an SEI Partner, including

  • The ability to provide the highest quality training and consulting services and include quality assurance measures for those services.
  • Demonstrated ability to transition technology practices in commercial settings, including competence in organizational change management.
  • The financial ability to sponsor candidates through the qualification process; to effectively market network systems security and survivability improvement training to their target market and/or or to effectively introduce network security and incident handling into their organizations; and to make other investments that may be necessary to achieve their business plans.
  • An interest in providing or a plan to provide CERT/CC training in parts of the world that may currently be under-served and in languages that may currently be under-represented in our current pool of SEI Partners.
