This is the first issue of the SEI Partner Program Newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our Partners' points of contact up-to-date on what's new at the SEI. It is our plan to release this newsletter quarterly with special editions as needed. We hope you find it useful and encourage you to pass it along to your colleagues.

New Licensing Opportunity: OCTAVE
The CERT® Coordination Center (CERT/CC) is now licensing individuals and organizations to commercially deliver the Operationally Critical Threat, Asset, and Vulnerability EvaluationSM (OCTAVE), an approach for self-directed information security risk evaluations.Licensees trained by CERT/CC experts in a five-day training course are authorized to use materials from the OCTAVE Method Implementation Guide externally or commercially train others in the OCTAVE Method assist in facilitating OCTAVE evaluations Training courses are scheduled for May, June, July, August, and October 2003. The OCTAVE Method was built with large organizations in mind. A second method, OCTAVE-S, will focus on small organizations and is tentatively scheduled for release in May 2003. More about OCTAVE and OCTAVE Partner options...

New CMMI® Instructor Authorization Point of Contact: Darlene Moore

Two New Service Marks: SEISM and SEPGSM
In the title of this newsletter, you may have noticed one of the SEI's latest service marks, "SEI." Another new service mark is "SEPG."
