Course Description

 

This one-day course is designed for those who would like to improve their knowledge of security issues, techniques, and trends related to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets on an organization's computer system.

This course provides participants with a foundation for applying best practices to the information security needs of an organization. Current, relevant topics that affect security implementations regardless of the organization's computer operating system are covered.

The course uses lecture, discussion, and exercises to help participants improve their understanding of the problem of securing information in the dynamic environment that global connectivity has created.

This course will help participants to

  • understand the challenges of securing information in a global, dynamic networked systems environment
  • understand the range of vulnerabilities and threats to which an organization's information assets may be exposed
  • develop strategies and resources to deal with information security problems
  • identify proactive measures to defend and improve the security posture of the organization
  • identify ways to improve readiness to respond to and recover from information security incidents

Participants will receive a course notebook and a CD containing the course materials.
