Course Description

The Managing Technological Change course provides participants with skills and knowledge that will help them introduce new technology or continuous improvement initiatives smoothly and effectively. During this course, participants learn a structured approach for dealing with the organizational and human aspects of technology transition, including the key concepts of change management, communication, and managing resistance.

This course consists of a set of carefully focused lectures, integrated with hands-on exercises that allow participants to apply the lecture content.

AUDIENCE

• Managers who are responsible for introducing new technology into their organizations.
• Practitioners involved with new technology transition efforts in their organizations.

Because portions of the course are hands-on, participants are encouraged to focus on a specific, real-life technology transition project, either past or present. Participants will leave the course with the tools and approaches that will help them to plan and manage a technology transition effort in their organizations.

Course Work
There is one hour of homework each evening and a pre-course assignment of about three hours.

LOGISTICS

Class Schedule
Managing Technological Change is a three and a half day course.
The daily schedule is:
Day 1 - 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Day 2 - 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Day 3 - 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Day 4 - 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
