John J. Marciniak
John J. Marciniak has over 35 years of experience in computer systems, particularly software engineering management and process improvement. He has been involved in process improvement for 12 years. Experience includes setting up a corporate process improvement program, leading and participating in assessments based on the SW-CMM, SA-CMM and FAA-iCMM. Was an author of the Software Acquisition Capability Maturity Model(R), the FAA integrated CMM(R), and the FAA-iCMM(R) Appraisal Method (FAM). Performed/participated in numerous informal and formal government and industry assessments based on the FAA-iCMM, SW-CMM and SA-CMM. Led an SCE based on the SW-CMM. Is trained in the SW-CMM CPA IPI and an Authorized SEI Lead assessor for SA-CMM(R).
Marciniak has presented courses in acquisition management, measurement, risk analysis , project management, systems engineering, software surveillance, and quality assurance. Helped develop the DOT software acquisition guide, The Road to Successful ITS Software Acquisition. He co-author of Software Quality Assurance and Management, 1987, and Software Acquisition Management, 1989, both by John Wiley and Sons. Editor in Chief of the Wiley Software Engineering Encyclopedia, 1994, 2nd Ed, 2002.
