Workshops

The following workshops are facilitated by SEI-certified instructors.

NOTE: All workshops are available as on-site deliveries only.

Risk Management Tailoring and Improvement Workshops

These workshops are designed to help participants solve problems related to risk assessment and management. The workshop's content is customized for each set of participants. Topics can include

  • Tailoring risk management methods, tools, and techniques to program and organizational requirements
  • Developing an effective risk communication and escalation approach
  • Improving or developing a risk management plan
  • Developing mitigation plans for critical program risks
  • Developing an action plan for improving a program's risk management practice

These workshops feature hands-on guidance from SEI risk management experts. The length and content of each workshop varies according to participants' requirements.

Risk Management Framework Course/Workshop Combination

The one-day course on what constitutes good risk management practice is supplemented by one or more days of workshops to help clients with any of the following: (1) tailor risk management methods, tools, and techniques to program and organizational requirements; (2) develop an effective risk communication and escalation approach; (3) improve or develop a risk management plan; or (4) develop an action plan for improving a program's risk management practice.

Introduction to Practical Risk Management Course/Workshop Combination

The one-day course on a practical approach for assessing and managing program risks can be supplemented by one or more days of workshops to help clients with any of the following: (1) tailor the 20 drivers to program and organizational requirements; (2) develop mitigation plans for critical program risks; or (3) develop an action plan for improving a program's risk management practice.

Practical Risk Management Course/Workshop Combination

The two-day course on practical risk management can be supplemented by one or more days of workshops to help clients with any of the following: (1) tailor risk management methods, tools, and techniques to program and organizational requirements; (2) develop an effective risk communication and escalation approach; (3) improve or develop a risk management plan; (4) develop an action plan for improving a program's risk management practice; (5) tailor the 20 drivers to program and organizational requirements; (6) develop mitigation plans for critical program risks; or (7) develop an action plan for improving a program's risk management practice.

NOTE: This combination will be available after September 2009.

Continuous Risk Management Course/Workshop Combination

A three-day, on-site, variation of the Continuous Risk Management course can focus on identifying, analyzing, planning, tracking, and controlling risks for a specific project, provided that more than half the participants are working on a single project, and that the remaining participants are willing to engage in helping the project members apply the methods and tools of Continuous Risk Management.
