Course Descriptions

Analyzing Project Management Indicators
This three-day course teaches project managers how to use measures and derived indicators as the foundation for making informed decisions. Participants learn how the Project Planning, Project Monitoring and Control, and Measurement and Analysis process areas of the Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®) models work together and how these techniques establish a foundation for implementing related higher maturity process areas.

Implementing Goal-Driven Measurement
This three-day course teaches managers and practitioners the 10-step Goal-Question-Indicator-Measure (GQIM) method based on the specific practices of the CMMI Measurement and Analysis Process Area.  Participants will learn how to use the method to identify and define measures that directly support their organizations’ business, process improvement, and project goals.

Implementing Goal-Driven Measurement Instructor Training
This three-day course for those interested in becoming SEI-Certified Instructors of the Implementing Goal-Driven Measurement course teaches the skills and knowledge needed to deliver the course as a public and tailored onsite offering.

Improving Process Performance Using Six Sigma
This five-day course takes a hands-on, tactical problem-solving approach to data analysis for process improvement. It provides participants with experience using a toolkit of analysis methods based on Six Sigma and Goal-Driven Measurement.

Designing Products and Processes Using Six Sigma
This five-day course takes a hands-on, measurement-oriented approach to product development. In the context of one extensive case study, participants learn a toolkit of analysis methods that leverage industry best practices, such as the Design-for-Six-Sigma methodology of DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) and CMMI High Maturity.

Practical Software and Systems Measurement: Objective Information for Decision Makers:
This one- or two-day course describes the Practical Software Measurement (PSM) issue-driven measurement process and includes practical "hands-on" tailoring and application exercises. This course teaches the basic skills needed to select and apply software measures at the program level. A SEMA team member is authorized to teach this course at your customer site.
