Message from the Conference Chair
Dear SEPG Community,
When we meet at SEPG 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee, the SEPG conference will be enjoying its 18th year. What a wealth of learning, sharing, and community building has happened over the last 17 years! We have built strong foundations, yet the pace of change seems to continually accelerate, challenging us and presenting new, exciting opportunities to improve our world, our organizations, and our professional lives. With that in mind, this year’s conference theme is “Strong Process Foundations, New Horizons.” You will see this reflected in the conference program in the following ways:
- “Process Boot Camp for Beginners” Here, first-timers or those who just want to refresh their knowledge will learn the foundations of the process field.
- CMMI replacing SW-CMM With the SW-CMM sunset complete, presentations dealing with it will no longer be considered for the program. Remaining SW-CMM users may want to consider meeting in a Birds of a Feather session at the conference.
- Synergy of CMMI, TSP/PSP, People CMM, and other technologies Increasing numbers of SEPG community members are benefiting from the synergy of process improvement methods and other technologies and are eager to share their findings.
- Emerging domains The success of process is spreading into new domains, including systems, financial, healthcare, and others, and we want to hear about them.
I hope you find, as I do, that these process foundations and new horizons are exciting additions to our conference. I look forward to seeing you in Nashville.
Regards,
Caroline Graettinger, PhD
SEPG Program Chair
