Giving back to the communities

At the SEPGSM North America 2008 conference, conference organizers and several exhibitors donated items to local Tampa charities as a way to give back to the local community. The initiative netted approximately 20 boxes of leftover conference supplies such as pens, pads of papers, and exhibit hall giveaways for the Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools program. Teaching Tools provides donated items to teachers for use in the classrooms and assists school children in need.

The SEPG Conference committee donated leftover luncheon meals each day to Metropolitan Ministries, a local organization which provides outreach services to poor and homeless individuals, and provided a donation to the Lockhart Magnet GTDA Elementary School Band which performed at the Tampa Convention Center on Monday, March 17th for the conference's grand opening.
