SPINS
Many members of the SEI Community are also affiliated with a Software and Systems Process Improvement Network (SPIN) Chapter. SPIN chapters bring together professionals in a given geographic area who are dedicated to software and systems process improvement. SPIN meetings serve as a forum for the free and open exchange of software and systems process improvement ideas, information, and mutual support.
SPINs foster innovation in software and systems engineering, and the SEI believes it is important to support their efforts. SEI SPIN Coordinator Shane McGraw maintains a directory of SPIN chapters and the SPIN meeting calendar on the SEI Web site. He also assists SPIN startups and occasionally provides SEI experts to speak at chapter meetings.
SPIN members also play a special role in the SEPG Europe conference, serving on the program committees for the Measurement and Analysis, Getting Started in Process Improvement Symposiums, and volunteering their time on site at the conference.
