Customer Engagements > Process Improvement and Performance Measurement

SEI services in this area involve methodologies for process and performance improvement in the management, development, and acquisition of today's and future software systems; key tools and methods include the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®), SEI Personal Software Process® (PSP®), SEI Team Software Process (TSP®), and SEI People Capability Maturity Model® (People CMM®) methodologies.

Assistance applying Goal-Driven Software Measurement, Six Sigma, and other measurement and analysis approaches

The SEI provides assistance applying Goal-Driven Software measurement, Six Sigma, and other measurement and analysis approaches as part of improvement efforts for software and systems engineering and acquisition management. Support is available in the form of data analysis, mentoring, analytical methods development, model development, and site-specific workshops.

Getting started with People CMM-based improvement

The SEI offers help to organizations that wish to adopt the People CMM but don't know how to get started.

Introducing PSP and TSP into an organization

Changing the personal work habits of engineers is not an easy task. The SEI or an SEI Partner can provide the needed services for transitioning a workforce into self-directed teams that plan and track their work, establish goals, and own their processes and plans. The SEI trains executives, managers, and engineers in the skills they need to manage, track, and report software development teams' progress, then provides the tools for organizations to take over their own training and support for their staff members.

Launching a CMMI-based process improvement program

The SEI offers a program called Quick Start to help organizations form a process improvement program tailored to their business objectives. This program is composed of a series of workshops designed to ensure that all critical resources have the knowledge, understanding, skill, confidence, and guidance to succeed.

People CMM assessments

The SEI offers three different levels of assessments using the People CMM: a formal assessment, a questionnaire-based assessment, and a gap analysis. All three assessments help organizations understand how their workforce management processes compare to the best practices in the People CMM.
