Case Studies

One way the SEI fulfills its purpose is by disseminating information about solutions for problems in software engineering, including those found in working toward system-of-systems interoperability. As a result, we continually investigate and publish examples pertaining to system-of-systems interoperability—what has proven successful, what can be improved, and what should be avoided.

We share here information about our experiences with approaches, techniques, and technologies for system-of-systems interoperability, including

  • SOA adoption feasibility—decisions by a government organization on whether legacy systems can be migrated to an SOA environment
  • system of systems interoperability—evaluation of technologies for interoperability, such as web services, model-driven architecture, and the open grid services architecture
