Key responsibilities
As a Visiting Scientist, she has administrative responsibilities and is track leader for CBA Lead Assessors who use the CBA IPI assessment method. She is a member of the SEI Appraiser Board. She is a SCAMPI Lead Appraiser and a qualified instructor for Introduction to CMMI courses. She is a CBA Lead Assessor and a qualified instructor for Introduction to CMM for Software. Prior to becoming a Visiting Scientist, she was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at the SEI from 1992 to 2002. She had responsibility for the CMM-Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement (CBA IPI) and the SEI Appraiser Program. As an authorized Lead Assessor, she has participated in assessments for SEI clients at all maturity levels.
Professional Background
Before joining the SEI in 1992, Dunaway worked in industry software development organizations and applied research groups in support of software engineering technologies. She has led software process improvement initiatives, research projects, knowledge-based system development, and other engineering applications implemented in software. She has technical and managerial experience in software research and development with companies including Texas Instruments, The Analytic Sciences Corporation, Atlantic Richfield, and her own consulting firm. She taught graduate computer science courses at The University of Texas at Dallas and East Texas State University.
