Key responsibilities
-Perform research and build work products related to Systems of Systems and Interoperability (as of Oct 1, 2005) -Provide consulting and guidance on technology transition and adoption to Dynamic Systems and other programs as time permits -Support adoption of CMMI via external presentations, publications, workshops, etc, especially focusing on the needs of small settings (this work will conclude in the January 2006 time frame)

Professional Background
Short bio: Ms. Garcia is a senior member of the technical staff at the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University, working in the Dynamic Systems group. Her current research is focused on synthesizing effective technology transition and management practices from research and industry into effective techniques for use in the development and operation of complex composite Systems of Systems. From Nov 1997-May 2001, she was the Deployments Manager for aimware, Incorporated's US customers, focusing on using technology to support organizational improvement. The 5 years prior to this were spent at the SEI working in various capacities on all the Capability Maturity Models the Institute was involved in. She spent the previous 12 years in multiple improvement- related roles at Lockheed Missile and Space Co.
