Maturity. The purpose of this section is to provide an indication as to how well-developed the technology is. A technology that was developed a year or two ago and is still in the experimental stage (or still being developed at the university research level) will likely be more difficult to adopt than one that has been in use in many systems for a decade. It is not the intent of this document to provide an absolute measure of maturity, but to provide enough information to allow the reader to make an informed judgment as to the technology's maturity for their application area.
