  • Updated the STR look & feel to match the current SEI web site look & feel. Navigation elements that were at the top of the STR pages are now on the left hand navigation sidebar. This will make the navigation consistent with the rest of the SEI web site and will aid us in maintaining and updating the STR material.

13 September 2000

  • Added an online survey to seek your input into what new technology descriptions that you think should be added to the Software Technology Roadmap (STR). If you would like to contribute your ideas, please take this short survey.

24 February 2000

  • Java: Updated to cover new Java developments (e.g., Java 2(tm), Jini(tm), Java Beans(tm), and Enterprise Java Beans(tm)). New references added.

  • Work begins again on updating and expanding the STR. All the technology descriptions are being reviewed for currency. If you have noticed technology descriptions that are in particular need of revision, please give us your observations. Coupled with updating and expanding the STR will be an effort to logically integrate the STR with the Software Engineering Information Repository (SEIR).

  • Keyword Index: revised the links to taxonomy categories and technology descriptions.

Previously, a link to a taxonomy category pointed to a graphical representation of the category. Now it points to a list of the technology descriptions in the category.

Previously, a link to a technology description took you to a specific location of a keyword in the description. Now, you are linked to the beginning of the description and can use your browser's "find" capability to locate instances of the keyword.

  • View the Quality Measures Taxonomy: updated. The graphical images of this taxonomy were reformatted to give the images a more uniform look. The images associated with the Application Taxonomy will be revised in the same manner in the near future.

  • Domain Engineering and Domain Analysis: figure sizes decreased. Users connecting to this technology description via Macintosh WWW clients were having difficulties printing its larger-width figures. The images were reduced, and should now print without problems.

7 November 97

  • Search the Taxonomies: added to Web site. This program allows you to expand the taxonomy trees, and search for technology descriptions classified under selected taxonomy terms.

A link to this program is available on the Taxonomies page. You can reach this page by selecting "Taxonomies" from the STR home page, or by selecting the Taxonomies button found at the top of most other STR pages.
