Automating Mismatch Detection in Machine-Learning (ML) Systems Using TEC

Organizations that develop machine-learning (ML) systems often struggle with ML mismatch—a problem that occurs in the development, deployment, and operation of an ML-enabled system when stakeholders make incorrect assumptions about system elements, resulting in a negative consequence. This fact sheet describes a tool developed by the SEI called TEC, which helps organizations better align the work of ML stakeholders and development teams to avoid ML mismatch and improve the integration of ML components into software systems. TEC can help organizations catch issues early in the development process and fix them before they turn into larger problems that can result in costly project delays.
