SEI AI Division Calls for Participation in AAAI Symposium
October 6, 2021 • Article

Editor's note: The deadline for submissions has been extended to December 15.

October 6, 2021—The SEI’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Division invites AI researchers and practitioners to submit contributions to its AI Engineering Symposium, jointly organized by researchers from the SEI, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Duke University, and SRI International. The event, part of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) Spring Symposium Series, is scheduled to be held at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, from March 21-23, 2022. Contribution submissions are due to the AAAI EasyChair site by November 15.

The goal of the symposium is to bring together new perspectives on AI engineering and further evolve the state of the art, foster critical relationships in the emergent discipline, and gather lessons learned, workforce development needs, and best practices.

“AAAI is a global leader in advancing and organizing the field of AI,” said Matt Gaston, the SEI AI Division director and symposium organizer, “and we are excited to have AAAI recognize AI engineering as an important and timely topic."

The symposium will include a mix of keynote and invited talks, breakout sessions, and panel discussions on AI engineering.

Contributors are encouraged to submit technical papers, case studies, practice papers, and panel ideas that explore one of, or the intersection of, three AI engineering pillars: human-centered AI, scalable AI, and robust and secure AI

The program for the AI Engineering Symposium will be announced later this year.
