Bob Ferguson consults with customers to provide measurement guidance for process and product development.

He frequently advises organizations on project estimation, project dashboards, balanced scorecard development and decision support. He is the course author for "Analyzing Project Management Indicators."

Ferguson's current research interests involve determining trade space definitions for software decisions in product development, modernization and sustainment.


Professional Background

Bob Ferguson is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a member of the Project Management Institute. He has a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP). He has 30 years of software development experience in five different industries. For 20 of those years he was a development manager and project manager. He has been actively involved in software measurement since 1992. His product domain experience includes real-time systems, CAD/CAM, instrumentation, telecommunications, MIS applications and decision support systems. He also served as chairman of the Chicago SPIN (Software Process Improvement Network) for more than 2 years.
