Senior Member of Technical Staff
Linda Parker Gates is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff in the SEI's Acquisition Support Program. She has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, organizational improvement, and related fields. Her current work focuses on acquisition improvement for government, civil, and intelligence agencies.
Gates has supported numerous government agencies in transitioning improvement strategies to their organizations. She specializes in strategic planning, performance improvement implementation, technology transition, and change management. She has contributed to the development of major SEI technologies, including the Integrated Strategic Planning Framework, the Process Change Methodology, the Mastering Process Improvement training course, and the Defining Software Processes training course. Gates joined the SEI in 1989. Before rejoining the SEI in 1996, Gates was a Member of the Technical Staff for two years at the Software Productivity Consortium in Herndon, Virginia. There she developed the Consortium's process engineering methodology and accompanying training course and worked with numerous industry clients. Gates has served on the 2011 and 2012 Baldrige Board of Examiners, where she reviews applications for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
