This three-day course provides students with an understanding of the concepts they will need to achieve and maintain CMMI-DEV maturity level 2, including the relationships among CMMI-DEV model components. The course is composed of class lectures and exercises presented in a style that creates dialog among students and instructors.
Note: This course was designed for the CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) models. Although much of the material is common and would apply to all CMMI models, this course does not address concepts unique to the CMMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) model or the CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC) model.
Students who complete the course will be able to do the following:
During class time, students can exchange ideas with other students and the instructors.
Before registering for this course, prospective students should successfully complete the Introduction to CMMI for Development v1.3 course (or Introduction to CMMI v1.1 or v1.2 with upgrade).
Students will receive a notebook, which includes copies of all slides and exercises (including solutions if applicable).
Students should bring to class a copy of the CMMI-DEV model. The model can be either the technical report, CMMI for Development, Version 1.3 (CMU/SEI-2010-TR-033), or the book, CMMI for Development: Guidelines for Process Integration and Product Improvement (3rd Edition). The technical report is available for free on the SEI website. The book is available from most book sellers.
