SGMM Navigator Training

This two-day, virtual course introduces the Smart Grid Maturity Model (SGMM) Navigation process to those interested in becoming an SEI-Certified SGMM Navigator. The SGMM Navigation process provides utilities with essential planning support and positions the Navigator to initiate new engagements and gain follow-on work with utility customers.

To prepare for the SGMM workshop experience, you will explore the SGMM's 175 aspects of smart grid implementation. Developed by utilities for utilities, the SGMM is a comprehensive analysis and planning tool.

The SGMM Navigator Training course features an interactive virtual classroom environment and includes a case study that simulates all aspects of the SGMM Navigation process. The course is composed of lectures, case study, and independent exercises, with many opportunities for discussion and Q&A. This allows the students to role-play the facilitation skills required and gain the detailed understanding of the model needed to lead a Navigation. Your remote participation in class activities and an exam will determine your successful completion of the course.

Course participants will receive a copy of the SGMM Navigator Process Resource notebook and a course notebook with copies of the course slides and exercises. The Navigator Process Resource notebook contains checklists, templates, and step-by-step guidance on the SGMM Navigation process.

To complete the course, participants will be required to pass a final examination. The final examination, which is exclusively available at commercial testing centers, will require completing a separate registration and payment of an additional exam fee.
