Erik Shreve

Software Engineering Institute

Erik Shreve is a senior software engineer and team lead in the CERT Cybersecurity Foundations directorate of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.

Erik’s 25 years’ experience includes employment in contract engineering, implantable medical device, and semiconductor industries. His body of work includes bare-metal development, cryptography implementation, team leadership, DevSecOps, product cybersecurity policy and process development, product incident response management, and product threat modeling.

Currently, Erik’s research focus is on the development of threat modeling formalizations and approaches to enable effective threat modeling earlier in the systems development life cycle.

Erik holds a MS in Computer Science with a focus on Information Assurance from The University of Texas at Dallas and a BS in Computer Engineering from West Virginia University.
