Leading in AI for Cybersecurity

Students will learn about the technologies, characteristics, and applications of AI for cybersecurity, including constructing machine learning (ML) models, applying deep neural networks (DNNs), interacting with large language models (LLMs), analyzing text data, creating automated planners, and selection and implementation of appropriate AI tools for various cybersecurity challenges. This is a self-paced eLearning course; allow approximately 11 hours of study time.

Fundamentals of Statistics Applied to Cybersecurity

In this course, students will learn about and investigate statistical techniques relied upon in the cybersecurity realm. These include: fundamentals of probability, parametric and nonparametric tests, supervised and unsupervised learning methods, the bias-variance tradeoff, training and validating a model, regularization techniques for creating more generalizable models. These concepts will be exercised in labs involving density and maximum likelihood estimation, hypothesis testing with z-tests, linear regression, and logistic regression. This is a self-paced eLearning course; allow approximately 5 hours of study time.

Effective Communication of Technical Concepts

This course teaches approaches for communicating technical data analysis results to non-technical stakeholders. Clear, persuasive, and actionable communication to decision makers, in particular, is critical for any data analysis to generate value. We focus on data visualization and writing, including beginner-friendly hands-on coding exercises, as well as a case study lecture in cybersecurity. This is a self-paced eLearning course; allow approximately 10 hours of study time.

CERT Leadership in AI for Cybersecurity Application Workshop

The Leadership in Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity Workshop is the capstone course for the CERT Leadership in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Cybersecurity Professional Certificate Program. Throughout the program, students gain skills and knowledge in AI fundamentals; this workshop serves as an opportunity to both exercise these skills and demonstrate proficiency in the course subject matter.
